White CoexFlex™ 60A TPU

**60A is very soft and can be challenging to print with.  We recommend a direct drive extruder with a contained filament path (it will squeeze out any gap it can) and a PTFE-lined hot end (it tends to stick to the walls of an all-metal hot end). Seasoning an all-metal hot-end may help.**

CoexFlex™ 60A TPU is, by far, the most flexible filament on the market. At Shore 60A, it is much softer than Ninjaflex or Filaflex, feels like a rubber band, and produces finished parts that are completely flexible no matter what infill density you use. Highly functional for applications that require stretch, flexibility, or compliance. (NOTE: Only printable with select printers capable of printing this durometer of filament. A direct drive extruder is required.)

Benefits of CoexFlex™ 60A TPU

  • Excellent layer adhesion
  • Incredible flexibility and elasticity
  • Great durability

Uses

  • Soft handles and grips
  • Protective cases and skins
  • Custom-shaped seals and gaskets
  • Soft and flexible functional parts

Recommended print settings

  • Hotend Temperature: 205°C – 215°C (DO NOT approach or exceed the material breakdown temperature of 230°C)
  • Bed Temperature: Bed heating not recommended.
  • Recommended build surfaces/adhesives:
    • BuildTak
    • PEI
    • Kapton Tape
    • Hairspray
    • Magigoo Flex
    • Magigoo
    • Painter’s Tape
  • Print speed – up to 40mm/s. Start very slow (20mm/s) and work up from there. Slow down for bridging and infill.
  • Extrusion multiplier – up to 1.25 compared to rigid material, depending on extruder tension
  • Extrusion width – 105% of nozzle diameter (0.42 for a 0.4mm nozzle)
  • Part cooling fan recommended

Technical Printing Guide - COEXFLEX 60A

1. Material Notes

  • Keep filament dry - store properly and dry before use
  • If needed, dry at 55°C for 4 hours or more
  • Preferably use direct drive extruder
  • Print multiple parts sequentially to minimize stringing
  • Use maximum travel speed to minimize stringing

2. Basic Parameters

Unlike rigid filaments, TPU stretches when extruded, producing thinner lines. The line width will be smaller than the nozzle diameter. To ensure proper bonding between vertical walls and perimeters

Nozzle Layer Height Line Width Volumetric Speed Temperature
0.4mm 0.2mm 0.34mm 2.0 mm³/s 225°C
0.6mm 0.3mm 0.54mm 4.5 mm³/s 225°C
0.8mm 0.4mm 0.74mm 8.0 mm³/s 225°C
 1.0mm 0.5mm 0.94mm 12.5 mm³/s 225°C

3. Speed Settings

0.4mm Nozzle (Volumetric Speed: 2.0 mm³/s)

 Line Type Percentage Speed
External Perimeter 50% 15.15 mm/s
Internal Perimeters 75% 22.73 mm/s
Infill 100% 30.30 mm/s
Top/Bottom 60% 18.18 mm/s
First Layer 30% 9.09 mm/s

0.6mm Nozzle (Volumetric Speed: 4.5 mm³/s)

 Line Type Percentage Speed
External Perimeter 50% 14.15 mm/s
Internal Perimeters 75% 21.23 mm/s
Infill 100% 28.30 mm/s
Top/Bottom 60% 16.98 mm/s
First Layer 30% 8.49 mm/s

0.8mm Nozzle (Volumetric Speed: 8.0 mm³/s)

 Line Type Percentage Speed
External Perimeter 50% 13.70 mm/s
Internal Perimeters 75% 20.55 mm/s
Infill 100% 27.40 mm/s
Top/Bottom 60% 16.44 mm/s
First Layer 30% 8.22 mm/s

1.0mm Nozzle (Volumetric Speed: 12.5 mm³/s)

 Line Type Percentage Speed
External Perimeter 50% 13.44 mm/s
Internal Perimeters 75% 20.16 mm/s
Infill 100% 26.88 mm/s
Top/Bottom 60% 16.13 mm/s
First Layer 30% 8.06 mm/s

4. Retraction Settings

IMPORTANT: Set travel speed to the maximum your machine allows (200-500mm/s). Faster movements reduce filament oozing time, minimizing stringing.

Nozzle Distance Speed Z-Hop
0.4mm 1.5-2.0mm 30mm/s 0.2mm
0.6mm 1.5-2.5mm 30mm/s 0.2mm
0.8mm 2.0-3.5mm 30mm/s 0.2mm
1.0mm 2.0-3.5mm 30mm/s 0.2mm

5. Temperature Settings

Bed Temperature:

  • Small parts: No heating (room temperature)
  • Large parts: 40-45°C

Extruder Temperature: 205-225°C

  • Due to thermal breakdown of the material, do not exceed 230°C

6. Cooling Settings

Cooling Configuration:

  • General: 0% (fan off)
  • Force fan speed for overhangs and bridges: OFF
  • Layers < 10 seconds: 40% fan
  • First layer: 0%

7. Troubleshooting Guide

 Problem Solution
Irregular extrusion

1. Dry the filament

2. Check extruder

3. Reduce speed

Poor adhesion

1. Dry the filament

2. Use adhesive

3. Adjust first layer

Stringing

1. Dry the filament

2. Adjust retraction

3. Increase travel speed

4. Check temperature

PLEASE NOTE: These printing parameters are initial recommendations based on our experience. They may need adjustment depending on your specific 3D printer, environmental conditions, and the geometry of the part you are printing. Use these settings as a starting point and fine-tune them according to your specific needs.

Tolerance: At Coex 3D, we use multi axis laser measuring heads to ensure a tolerance of ±.03mm.

Quality: All Coex 3D printer filament is manufactured in our Green Bay, WI production facility. This allows us to ensure consistent quality for every spool through control of every aspect of the manufacturing process.

Packaging: Every spool of Coex 3D filament is thoroughly dried in our industrial dryer before being sealed. Spools are sealed with desiccant in a 4mil thick vacuum bag.

Tested: Coex 3D doesn't just sell filament, we use it on a daily basis. Our 50+ 3D printers are constantly running with our filament. We rely on our quality as much as our customers do.

Great customer service and material

I had the wrong material sent 60D instead of 60A but Josh B. with COEX3d Support was able to send me the correct material right away. I was able to print this on our Bambu Lab X1C after some modifications.
