Flame Retardant Black ABS

Our flame retardant ABS filament is made using a premium UL94 V-0 rated ABS resin.  This filament is ideal for applications that require self-extinguishing properties. (UL yellow card information available upon request.)

Flame Rating (UL94)*

      • 1.5mm:  V-0
      • 2.0mm:  V-0, 5VB
      • 2.5mm:  V-0, 5VA
      • 3.0mm:  V-0, 5VA

*This is the UL94 rating of base resin we use to make Coex Brand Flame Retardant ABS Filament.

Safety Note:  Direct ventilation from your printer is required to print our Flame Retardant ABS.  We highly recommend venting outside or via HEPA and carbon filtration.

Warning! Never let Flame Retardant filament cool in your printer nozzle.  Always remove the filament while nozzle is still hot and purge with standard ABS after printing.

Technical Printing Guide - COEX ABS

1. Material Notes

  • Keep filament dry - store properly and dry before use
  • If needed, dry at 75°C for 3 hours or more
  • Enclosure is nessecary
  • Use Z-offset slightly higher than PLA (+0.05mm)
  • Enable "Avoid crossing perimeters" to reduce stringing
  • Consider using the "Wipe while retract" option
  • Enable "Slow down for small perimeters."
  • Print outer walls slower for better quality
  • Use a minimum layer time of 30 seconds for small parts
  • Consider using "Extra Prime Amount" after retraction

2. Temperature Settings

Bed Temperature: 80-100°C

  • Wash the bed often for good adhesion - Use dish soap and rinse thoroughly to remove oils
  • Use bed adhesion products if necessary (gluestick, WELD3D)
  • Use brim for tall or large prints
  • Keep the ambient temperature stable

Extruder Temperature: 245-265°C

3. Basic Parameters
