Black ABS is our top-selling ABS, built for parts that take heat and impact: enclosures, housings, end-use tools, and moving parts under mechanical stress. It's made from virgin Chimei Polylac ABS resin and held to ±0.03mm (1.75mm) or ±0.06mm (2.85mm) diameter.
Key properties
- Stiff, impact-resistant and heat-resistant
- Can be vapor-smoothed with acetone for a glossy, sealed finish

Printing notes
- Print in an enclosure. ABS warps and cracks in open air.
- ABS absorbs moisture. Store it sealed with desiccant, and dry it if you hear popping during a print.
- Ventilation helps with the smell but isn't required.
