We’ve spent years talking to people who actually run printers: shops taking custom files, quoting by hand, chasing invoices in email, and trying to remember which job is on which machine.
That’s the part of 3D printing nobody writes a guide about. So we built software for it.
3D Job Desk is a print-shop operations desk. Customers send STL, OBJ, 3MF, or STEP files.
You review them, send a quote, take payment, and track the job through the floor. It lives at 3djobdesk.com.
We’re using it ourselves. Now we want a small group of other shops on it while it’s still early.
What it does
Shoppers drop a model, pick a material, and wait for you to look at it. You quote after review — or turn on instant quote if that’s how you work.
You can:
- Share a direct intake link (no other platform required)
- Drop intake into a Shopify page, embed it on WordPress, or your personal site.
- Invoice with your Stripe, Shopify, or Woocommerce invoice — job payments go to you. We don’t take a cut.
- See the job move when it’s paid
- Manage printers and the floor in the same place as the quote
Shopify and WordPress are optional. If you just want a link on your site that says “send us a print file,” that’s enough.
Who this is for
Shops that take custom print files.
If your week looks like “someone emailed an STL, I quoted it in a spreadsheet, I hope they paid, and I think it’s on printer 3,” you’re the person we want.
If you already live in Shopify or Wordpress you can still run the same jobs from Shopify or Wordpress Admin. If you don’t use Shopify or Wordpress at all, you still get a full desk.
We need beta testers
This is real software on a real site, but it is not a finished store-shelf product. We want shops that will send real jobs through it and tell us what’s awkward, missing, or broken.
We’re looking for:
- At least a few custom print jobs a month
- Someone who will actually quote and invoice in the desk, not only click around
- Honest notes: “intake was fine, quoting this file type was not,” or “I need X before I can stop using email”
You don’t need to be a big shop. A one- or two-person desk is perfect.
What you get
Beta testers get a desk on 3djobdesk.com, and a line to us when something doesn’t make sense.
How to join
- Open a desk:
3djobdesk.com/signup
- Send us a note that you would like to be in the beta — email help@3djobdesk.com
- Put the intake link on your site (or keep it private) and run a real job through it
If you’d rather talk before signing up, email us. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s a fit.
We’re a filament company. We also run a print desk. 3D Job Desk is the tool we wished existed for that second job. If you want to help shape it, we want to hear from you.
