ASA filament (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is a thermoplastic 3D printing material that is perfect in many ways and is suitable for many different applications. It has a similar chemical makeup to ABS plastic but offers three notable improvements: better mechanical properties, it is naturally UV resistant, and it simply produces amazing finished prints. Coex 3D offers ASA in the same colors as our ABS giving you 11 colors to choose from and is available in both 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters in varying spool sizes.
Although ASA can safely be printed using an open bed printer, it is still recommended to print ASA in an enclosed printer which will allow parts to cool slowly and uniformly which helps to prevent shrinkage and warping.
Coex 3D’s ASA products are made with 100% virgin resin and high-quality colorants with no added fillers. All Coex 3D filament is made in our production facility in Green Bay, WI, USA using industrial-grade extruders and laser measuring quality control to ensure quality and consistency with every spool.
Looking for a high-performance 3D printing polymer that provides excellent UV stability and weather resistance? Look no further than Black ASA Prime, the perfect choice for your 3D printing needs.
Our Black ASA Prime is an Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) polymer that is specifically formulated for 3D printing. It offers the ideal balance of mechanical strength, toughness, stiffness, and weather resistance that you can rely on for extended periods.
Black ASA Prime is well-suited for outdoors and automotive applications thanks to its exceptional weather resistance and UV stability. Our ASA polymer is perfect for creating functional prototypes, end-use parts, and low-volume production runs.
If you are looking for a material that can withstand harsh weather conditions, retain its color and mechanical properties in direct sunlight, and provide long-lasting performance, then Black ASA Prime is the right choice for you. With its easy-to-print characteristics and excellent layer adhesion, this ASA filament offers great value for money.

Recommended Print Settings
Coex 3D recommends the following print settings when printing with our ASA. Settings will vary depending on your specific printing setup.
Hotend Temperature: 235 °C - 245 °C
Important! This temperature range may seem hotter than you're used to for other ASA filaments. Using 100% virgin resin causes our ASA to require slightly higher printing temperatures.
Drying: ASA filament is hygroscopic and will absorb moisture from the air if not stored in a dry environment. If this happens, you may experience under-extrusion/inconsistent extrusion or excess stringing. You may also hear a "popping" sound coming from the hotend during printing. We recommend drying our ASA at 65 °C for at least 3 hours if it has been exposed to excess humidity.
Tolerance: At Coex 3D, we use multi axis laser measuring heads to ensure a tolerance of ±.03mm.
Quality: All Coex 3D printer filament is manufactured in our Green Bay, WI production facility. This allows us to ensure consistent quality for every spool through control of every aspect of the manufacturing process.
Packaging: Every spool of Coex 3D filament is thoroughly dried in our industrial dryer before being sealed. Spools are sealed with desiccant in a 4mil thick vacuum bag.
Tested: Coex 3D doesn't just sell filament, we use it on a daily basis. Our 50+ 3D printers are constantly running with our filament. We rely on our quality as much as our customers do.
So glad to have a great quality filament made in America

First Time, Great Experience!
As a fan of Coex filaments, it was a no brainer that when they introduced a new product line, it was because they knew they had something. I jumped on the band wagon and my first prints with ASA turned out far better than I anticipated. I ran similar settings to ABS, except without my enclosure, and am super happy with the results. This stuff has to have one of the best looking finishes to it I’ve encountered. Even at 0.2 layer height, the layer lines seem to blend into themselves.

This stuff just looks great and runs just as well as any of the other filaments I've gotten from COEX 3D. Very happy I found this brand, it's always a fun extra bit when i tell people it came from a company here in WI.
First-time COEX customer and I just did my first few PETG prints (using the setting suggestions above) and I'm as happy as can be. Printing on an old Qidi X-pro (flashforge creator pro clone) with a new Micro-Swiss all-metal hot end, and 250C worked very well. Will definitely buy COEX again. I have only one complaint (:D)... your mascot creeps me the heck out. It is memorable, I'll give you that. What's the story behind that? I'm hoping some explanation will allow me to see it from a different perspective.
Never used this brand before. So when I came across it figured what the hell why not give it a try. Bought 3 different rolls of the mystery. The downloaded there settings in Bambu studios. Picked something to print and let it do it's thing. And as you can see the below the print came out fabulous thanks to the filament and the creator of the item printed.
Definitely a very very good purchase. Will be buying more.
I am new to 3D printing and quickly used up the small starter roll supplied with my machine. The sild sample pack provided me several colors to experiment with and a good quantity of material to print with. I feel it was a good value and I have been getting great results with the silk and got the settings dialed in quickly. I have been printing Hot Wheels garages I designed for the grandkids, blue for the boys and pink for the girls and some generic black. Lots of fun!
